Bachelor of Science in History

The Online History degree at King University allows students to take a wide variety of history courses with topics ranging from Intellectual and Cultural History of the United States to Europe from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment to Politics to the History of China.  Graduates will acquire knowledge in several areas including Western history, one or more fields of non-Western history, and the conventions of historical research and writing. Graduates of the online history degree program will be prepared to pursue careers in business, education, journalism, museum curacy, library science, law, historic preservation, Foreign Service, and government service amongst others.

The standard online History degree requires 36 semester hours of coursework. In addition to the standard History degree, King has developed an Integrative Trac designed to streamline a double-major with other disciplines such as Philosophy, Religion, English, Fine Arts, French or Spanish. Students in the Integrative Trac are required to complete 28 semester hours in History and 16 semester hours in a second field of their choosing.  Students interested in teaching can also work toward a Secondary Education licensure in History with modifications to the History major and successful completion of the Secondary Education minor.
