Bachelor of Science in Management
Bachelor of Science in Management program at Dominican College grow their technical, human relations, communications and administrative skills and become especially knowledgeable about the functions and tactics managers use to lead and motivate their employees on a daily basis.
Our Bachelor of Science in Management program is intended for those who wish to begin a career in management with an entry-level position. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to analyze business problems, communicate effectively with team members, use technology to enhance reports and presentations, understand organization philosophy and possess teambuilding know-how.
Two concentrations are available within the program, financial management and human resource management.
The financial management specialization is designed for students who wish to acquire knowledge about the management of cash flows within organizations. Courses discuss corporate decision making with regard to asset and debt management, investment in working capital and capital assets, as well as budgeting and the investment process.
The human resource management specialization prepares students for work in the human resource departments of any organization. Courses provide instruction in skills that pertain to staffing, training, social interaction and collective bargaining practices.
Courses focus on instilling critical thinking and sound communication skills that are applicable to managerial positions in any industry. Classes are offered online and weekend-only, in addition to traditional day and evening formats. Transfer credits are welcomed.
Program requirements: The Bachelor of Science in Management program requires completion of 120 credit hours - nine in management classes, 30 in core business classes, 60 in liberal arts courses and 21 in electives. A grade of a "C" or higher must be obtained in all business courses. Online courses are administered through the ACCEL program. Students may enroll in a maximum of three classes per eight-week session. No more than 45 credit hours may be earned each year. It is possible for students to complete the program in as little as 32 months.
