LeTourneau University, one of the leading online colleges in Texas, has ranked highly in a survey by The Best Colleges, a university comparison service, according to the Longview News-Journal.
The university was ranked among the top 25 online colleges in the U.S. by the survey, and was also featured among the top 10 Christian universities in the country. The online degree in counselling ranked favorably due to smaller group sizes, and the online masters degree programs, online bachelor degree programs and online certificate programs offered by the university helped it secure a position in the top 10.
"As a Christian university, LeTourneau University is committed to developing degree programs that make a positive difference in the lives of people," Philip Coyle, provost at the university, told the newspaper. "This master of arts in counseling program specifically is one that can touch and renew the lives of many and fits with our vision that our graduates will see their life’s work as a holy calling in every workplace and in every nation."
Online masters degree programs are becoming increasingly popular. According to the 2010 Sloan Survey of Online Learning, approximately 30 percent of all students enrolled in postsecondary degree programs take at least one course online.
