Master’s in human resource development offered through Drexel’s school of education

Employment in the field of human resources is predicted to increase by 22 percent in the 2008-2018 decade, which is much faster than average for most occupations, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. Much of this growth can be attributed to changes in standards for occupational health and safety, wages, retirement plans and other areas of concern.
To meet the needs of this growing field, Drexel's school of education is offering an online master's in human resource development. By offering the program through the school of education rather than a business school, Dr. Ken Hartman, president of Drexel University Online, said he believes that it will give students "an increased focus on guiding their workforce through advanced education. An advanced degree from a School of Education can help HR professionals stand out in their field and make them key leaders in tomorrow's society."
Students who enroll in the program will have the option of focusing their course of study in business, education or global settings. The online format is also beneficial to students who want to get an education while still working a full-timejob or raising a family.
